South Korean pop idol Rain will have to work hard on his language skills ahead of his new Asian tour, which starts in Beijing this month.

'I did spend some time learning Chinese,' said the 28-year-old, who recently released an environment-themed song in Putonghua.

'However, I gave up practising while I was working in the US. Now, as I'm preparing for this concert, I'm finding it difficult to pick up the language all over again.'

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, will kick off The Best 2011 Rain Asian Tour with a concert in Beijing on March 26. It will be his first show in the city in six years. The concert will feature an environmental theme, with sci-fi elements, laser lighting and a mask performance.

Rain said he and his dance crew had been rehearsing more than 10 hours a day for the tour.

'[We] usually take three to four months to prepare for a tour and are always serious, so we're sometimes exhausted,' he said. 'You'll realise how hard we've been working when you come to our show.'
