Get your cos-play outfits out of the closet and suit up for this month's C3 Expo where the love of Japanese anime and manga is celebrated. C3 is an acronym for character, culture and content - the true essence of good anime and manga, according to the organisers.
The event, which will be held from March 11-13, will have plenty of stalls and booths, and will be similar to the Animation, Comics and Games Hong Kong Expo that takes place in August every year. Besides toy displays, a host of Japanese celebrities, including J-pop singers, will entertain visitors to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
There will be a series of special events this year. C3 opens on Friday when otaku will be treated to a performance by girl group SKB48 and the Hong Kong premiere of Mobile Suit Gundam UC's episode 3, The Ghost of Laplace. Saturday will be another wonderful day for visitors, with live musical performances by another girl group, SKE48, Daisy x Daisy, Milky Holmes and Chiaki Ishikawa. On the final day, there will be a Super Talk and a special concert - 'Ani-Son' Super Live in C3HK - featuring singers Hironobu Kageyama, Masaaki Endoh, Hiroshi Kitadani, Minami Kuribayashi and Miyuki Hashimoto.
The cost of admission is HK$30; free for under-11s.
Opening hours: Mar 11 - 3pm to 9pm; Mar 12 - 11am to 9pm; Mar 13 - 11am to 7pm
