Karen Mok's warm relations with Canon take her to chilly set
Singer-actress Karen Mok Man-wai is in Beijing to promote the latest Canon IXUS camera model.
The 40-year-old singer, who has been a spokeswoman for the brand for eight years, said filming this year's commercial was the toughest job yet, because shooting took place in Yuen Long on a cold day last month.
'The temperature was 9 degrees [Celsius] in the city, so it was even lower out in the New Territories,' she said. 'Fortunately, the commercial required me to dance, so I was able to stay warm by jumping around.'
Mok has two films lined up - one a light-hearted comedy and the other a serious drama in which she will star as a severely injured accident victim.
She said it would be tough juggling both roles but she was ready for the challenge, after a refreshing, extended holiday in Europe over the New Year.
For now she's happy just being the face of Canon cameras, which has experienced increased sales every year for the past eight years.
'The boss of Canon loved the commercial, apparently,' she said. 'So I'm happy.'
