Attack on girl, 14, reclassified as murder bid

A case involving a 14-year-old girl who sustained multiple chop wounds in an alleged attack on Monday night by her mother's boyfriend was reclassified as attempted murder. She was in a critical condition at Tuen Mun Hospital. The boyfriend, 44, was in stable condition after trying to kill himself with a cutter after the attack near Hing Shing House, Tai Hing Estate. He was arrested and detained. Police believed the Form One student was asked by her mother to meet the man over financial matters.
