Reach Global Services, a Hong Kong-based submarine cable and satellite systems operator, said a number of cables on which it owns capacity were affected by last week's earthquake in Japan. Its 21,000-kilometre, transpacific Japan-US Cable, for example, 'suffered several cuts that impacted Reach and all other users of that system', a spokesman said yesterday.
