There is a little more than a week before the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament kicks off, but it's already time to warm up.

The 'Spirit of the Dragon' rugby roadshow starts today at Chater Garden in Central.

If you have only watched rugby on television and want to know more about it, this is your chance to learn.

The roadshow teaches beginners the basic skills of the sport, from kicking to passing and scoring a try.

Local rugby heroes Keith Robertson, Rowan Varty, Salom Yiu Kam-shing and Ed Haynes will be there to help students improve their game.

Apart from giving sporting tips, they will sign posters, cards and mini rugby balls for participants. There will also be souvenirs and team cards for visitors to take home.

At the same time, visitors will be asked to sign balls for teams coming to the city for the Sevens.

The roadshow is a great way for fans and players of the game to learn more about rugby before the main event. It continues until the first day of the Hong Kong Sevens (March 25).

The roadshow runs from 11am until 6pm on weekdays, and admission is free.
