Schlesinger will help guide strategy and build relationships in the region. A fluent Mandarin and Cantonese speaker, Schlesinger worked and studied in the region for 13 years during the 1980s and 1990s. He is an authority on Chinese business, politics and culture.

Timothy O'Driscoll General manager Westin Shenzhen Nanshan

A 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, O'Driscoll joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1989, and has worked in Australia, England, Nigeria and Indonesia. He has also managed hotels in Guangdong and Shandong and comes to Westin from the Le Meridien Chongqing.

Jenny Chang Managing director, technology and telecommunications Greater China Synovate

Chang has more than 20 years of experience in market research, and has been working with various clients in the sector in Taiwan. She will be be based in Beijing.

Steve Garton Managing director of media Greater China Synovate

Garton has more than 40 years of media experience, much of it in Asia. One of his specialities is developing audience research techniques and creating the world's largest media surveys. He is also the global head of media. Garton will be based in Hong Kong.

Roland Leung Managing director of emerging industries Greater China Synovate

Also the office head of Synovate in Hong Kong, Leung has more than 16 years of experience in the industry, and was most recently senior vice-president of sales and marketing in Asia for Harris Interactive.

Steven Townsend Global director of urban design Woods Bagot, Hong Kong

For the past 30 years, Townsend has been involved in urban design and masterplanning across the region. As global director he will direct a team working on conceptual architectural design, land and transport planning and development programming.

Hannah Chan Chief financial officer Sun Life Hong Kong

With 25 years in accounting and finance, Chan was assistant general manager and deputy CFO at Hang Seng Bank. She is a Chartered Accountant and FCPA, Australia and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Vincent Tong Assistant vice-president, agency operations Manulife

Tong will be responsible for strengthening the agency recruitment effort. Before joining Manulife, he was a general manager and headed a sub-branch for an international insurance firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hong Kong.

Michelle Lai Senior district director Manulife

Lai joined Manulife in 1983. She has won the General Agents and Managers Association's International Management Award since 1997 and the Career Development Award since 1995. She is also a life and honour roll member of the association.

Brian McCullough Managing director Citi

Working in the bank's financial institutions group in Asia-Pacific, McCullough will lead the bank's capital advisory services in the region. Based in Hong Kong, he joins Citi from PacBridge Capital Partners where he was a partner and head of corporate advisory and financing.

Maggie Ng Director of cards and unsecured lending Citibank Global Consumer Group

Ng will handle sales and marketing, product development and management, brand promotion and unsecured lending products. She has also worked at Ernst & Young Australia and Broken Hill Proprietary (HK).

Hatti Cheung Director of risk management Citibank Global Consumer Group

Cheung joined Citibank in 1991 and has held senior positions across the bank including service quality, credit card service hotline, strategic analytics and score modelling, risk management for credit cards, mortgage and personal loans.

Jonathan Lai Deputy managing partner HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng

Lai graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1994 and qualified as an ACA in 1997. He joined the firm in 1998. He specialises in audit of Hong Kong and overseas-listed entities, investment funds and SFC licensed corporations. He is also a certified fraud examiner.

Paul Jebely Aviation finance practice Clyde & Co

Jebely joins the firm from Ashurst in Hong Kong where he was a senior associate and head of aviation for Asia, Middle East and Africa. He is experienced in aircraft financing, leasing and trading transactions. He is qualified to practise in the United States, Canada and England and Wales.
