New face of beauty

What better time to launch a brand new magazine than springtime? The weather is getting warmer, the skies bluer and, all around us, life is about to bloom.

As the temperature rises and the humidity builds, we need to think about how the changing climate affects our skin. In this inaugural issue of FACES, Suzanne Harrison asks skincare experts about the changes we need to make to our beauty routine and which products best suit the season.

This issue's beauty photo shoot was inspired by spring flowers. Make-up artist Sharon Siu (Little White) created stunning looks using the latest hues from the top brands - daffodil yellow, cornflower blue, violet and gerber pink, red and orange. This season is all about colour.

We visited the cosmetic concierge at Lane Crawford where beauty service manager Nero Lam showed us how to create three stunning looks from the Spring/Summer 2011 runways; the nude look; the power pout; and the ever-popular smoky eyes. We also bring you all the new must-have cosmetics, fragrances and skincare products.

We didn't forget the guys. We discovered how traditional is the new fashion, with the art of the wet-shave returning to popularity, and take a look at some of the best products out there that have been designed especially for men. There is something for everyone in this issue of FACES. Enjoy!
