THE cocktail reception at the China Club was held to launch the ''David Linley For Alfred Dunhill'' collection of cigar cabinets.

But while the exquisitely crafted boxes attracted a lot of attention - and buyers there were aplenty - it was Viscount Linley's recently taken wife, Serena, who was the focus of most eyes.

She mixed easily with the assembled throng of movers and shakers, already looking like a seasoned Royal alongside her husband who is 12th in line to the British throne.

Among the guests were Brigadier Christopher Hammerbeck, Francis Cornish, Nancy Miller Jong, Paul Selway-Swift and Mee-Seen Loong.
