Ship Erradale

China Navigation Company's new 162,000 deadweight tonne (dwt) bulk carrier Erradale on the high seas. Although smaller than the company's two very large crude carriers Eriskay and Eredine, at 226,314 dwt and 274,626 dwt, respectively, Erradale is a big ship - the largest vessel built for the group. The ship has attracted considerable attention as the prototype of Belfast shipyard Harland and Wolff's S162 Capesize bulk-carrier series, which was developed in response to concern at the rate of global bulk-carrier casualties.
