Sheen goes for mean, hard look

DESPITE his acclaimed celluloid role in Wall Street, actor Martin Sheen didn't seem interested in knowing anything about Hong Kong's role as the financial centre of Asia while in town.

He was more curious to discover ''the quiet side of Hong Kong'', which prompted Keeping Posted to suggest a walk in the hills.

''Uphill?'' he queried. ''You can forget that.'' How about a boat trip? ''Only if I can do some deep sea fishing,'' he replied.

We understand someone did arrange a fishing trip for Sheen yesterday. But, alas, the weather put paid to that.

By the way, we asked him about the new image - beard, spectacles and cap.

''I started growing the beard about four months ago because I felt there were far too many pretty boys in Hollywood,'' he explained. ''I want to look more of a mean, hard guy.'' So the Brat Pack had better watch it.
