Service halted

THE junior and adult sections of the Kowloon Central Library will be temporarily closed until June 19 while the library completes a bar-coding of books and facilities as part of a computerising project.

After that, the reference and audio-visual libraries will be closed from June 20 to July 5 for the same purpose.

In the meantime, readers can return borrowed materials and apply for computerised library cards. The study room facility and the newspapers and periodicals section will be open as usual.

After the completion of the bar-coding exercise, the Kowloon Central Library will re-open as the Urban Council's fifth computerised public library.

The three computerised libraries are at Lai Chi Kok, Electric Road, and City Hall, while the fourth one, at Tsz Wan Shan, re-opens this week.
