Why let latecomers in?
ON Saturday, June 11, I was at The Pirates of Penzance in the Shouson Theatre, at the Arts Centre. At 9pm, just 10 minutes before the interval, a group of 12 people were admitted to the theatre and duly made their way to their seats exactly in the centre of a row, interrupting the enjoyment of at least 100 other people.
Firstly, I would ask the Arts Centre management how they could possibly permit this to happen? Secondly, I would invite any one of the 12 people who arrived so late, to explain how they could justify their untimely intrusion, or why it should not be seen as an example of arrogant and inconsiderate bad manners?
