Bajkusa on block

NEW team Golden have expressed interest in South China Bosnian striker Alen Bajkusa who was made available on loan by the Caroliners this week.

Golden chairman Simon Wan Chi-lok has held talks with South China who assured him that no loan fee would be required to sign the young striker.

Wan said they were interested in Bajkusa and were hoping South China would also release international midfielder Chiu Chung-man to them.

South China's decision to put Bajkusa on loan has angered the 23-year-old who said he felt trapped because he had sacrificed several offers to stay with the Caroliners.

''The club should have informed me before they told the press. I had to turn down offers from other clubs just to stay with South China. Now, they are saying they don't want me,'' said Bajkusa.

He said he had signed a one-season contract with South China - but was then ordered to follow the management's instructions.
