5-star deal could pose pet problem

FOLLOWING the call we put out yesterday from the Marriott which had a consignment of bedspreads, curtains and drapes to get rid off, the response wasn't long coming.

We understand the RSPCA was more than happy to take up the offer - getting on the telephone pronto and beating a number of other callers to the offer.

According to the RSPCA spokesperson Rosana Lai, the items will come in handy.

She said: ''The curtains will be used to cordon off the vets as they perform their work, and the bedspreads to keep the animals warm in their kennels.

So now that the dogs and cats at the RSPCA are going to be kept in 5-star comfort, the RSPCA might be faced with an unexpected problem.

Being pampered in this way, would they, we wonder, ever want to leave the place for a new home?
