Unwelcome message
THE payment advice message set up recently by Hongkong Telecom is a nuisance and causes great disruption to business.
All six lines in our office received a pre-recorded message on the morning of July 7, whenever staff lifted the receiver, telling us that our phone bill was overdue.
This message lasted for a minute. Outgoing calls could only be made after the message.
This caused us delays and interrupted normal business operations.
Since our payment records showed no overdue accounts, we contacted HK Telecom only to find out that it was an ''unknown'' mistake.
I am disappointed by what happened. I am also annoyed that Hongkong Telecom has had to resort to this demeaning tactic to collect its bills.
There must be a better alternative.
