King's fans get chance to rock around the clock

GLANCING through the dozens of faxes that arrive at our modest cubicle, we noticed feisty FM Select has declared next weekend ''Elvis Weekend'', with the King's music being played on request from Friday right through to Sunday.

FM Select's channel director Larry London claims the event is being staged in memory of Elvis, who died in August 17 years ago.

(But some of us who keep bumping into Elvis at various locations across town know better.) How insensitive of London and his jocks. Don't they realise that poor Elvis is currently undergoing a domestic crisis, having inherited a son-in-law he could have well done without.

Listeners are therefore advised to desist from calling FM Select on air claiming to be Michael Jackson and requesting Elvis hits like Fool Such As I and All Shook Up. Don't be cruel.
