POLICE want to speak to a group of youths seen loitering near the Financial Secretary's new Jaguar yesterday shortly before it was vandalised.

The youngsters were spotted at about 9.40 am by construction workers labouring near the Central Government Offices in Lower Albert Road - only minutes before Sir Hamish Macleod's plush limousine was scratched.

The driver left the dark green Jaguar unattended for only three minutes while getting water and a cloth to prepare it for a tour to the New Territories.

When he returned, a 11/2-metre scratch was etched across its bonnet.

The car, which could cost $30,000 to repair, is being used by acting Financial Secretary, Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.
