Direct cause of poverty

SO the Catholic Church in the Philippines managed to mobilise hundreds of thousands of Filipinos to protest against what one church leader called ''the global dictatorship of birth control''.

The lack of a sensible birth control scheme in that country has been the direct cause of poverty, sickness and many deaths to unwanted children.

The Catholic church has been the most powerful guardian of that country's morals for several centuries.

It has not managed to solve the problems of over population and poverty.

Its policies are therefore wrong and because of the degradation it causes, its policies are evil.

Why the Catholic church allows the rhythm method of birth control but considers a small piece of latex as a mortal sin is beyond me.

This form of preventative birth control is surely the simplest method of fighting poverty.

I cannot believe that any benevolent God would be against an idea like that.

Only small-minded men could do that.
