Daya Bay unit closed
ONE of the two generating units at the Daya Bay nuclear power plant was shut down this week because of high vibrations in a water pipe, it was revealed last night.
The unit, which was re-started yesterday morning, was expected to reach full power today, according to a spokesman for the Hong Kong partner, China Light and Power.
The spokesman said the unit was shut down on Monday as part of a protection system and the incident did not involve any radioactivity risk.
