REPUBLIC of Ireland centre-forward Niall Quinn is set to return to the international stage in Wednesday's European Championship soccer qualifier against Latvia after 10 months of frustration.
The tall Manchester City striker severed a cruciate knee ligament in a league game last November which cost him a trip to the World Cup finals in the US.
But Quinn has made a remarkable recovery and after four substitute appearances for his club this season Ireland manager Jack Charlton believes he is ready to play for the Republic again.
