A BREATHTAKING show by Swiss mime trio Mummenschanz is coming to Hong Kong later this month.

The show, Parade , will give theatre patrons the chance to escape into a world of fantasy, mystery and humour.

The piece, through the soundless theatrical expertise of the three performers, explores the cycles of life, death and resurrection.

It uses the familiar garbage bag to convey images of recycling, terminal disposal and renewal.

Throughout the programme, both familiar and unknown characters appear, vanish and re-appear expressing magic, sadness and joy.

The performance is actually a parade of life and love, frustration and happiness, all linked by charming humour.

To call the Mummenschanz members just mimes would be over-simplifying their skills; they not only excel in this supreme form of art but also enchant audiences of all ages with their acrobatics, contortion, balance and dance abilities.

The show is created and interpreted by Floriana Frassetto, Bernie Schurch and John Charles Murphy.

Parade will be staged at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre from September 25 to 28. The curtain will rise at 8 pm.

Tickets, which cost $160, $120 and $80, are available from Urbtix outlets. The half-price tickets are available for students and senior citizens.
