UNDERDOGS Perrier pulled off another upset in the U2 Premier squash League when they toppled defending champions Hong Kong Football Club at Happy Valley yesterday to maintain their pole position in the standings.

Perrier, victors over an under-strength Rubicon in the first round last week, beat the footballers 5-1 with Fayyaz Mohammad, Au Chun-tat and Lincoln Chan Lik-hang all winning their rubbers.

Club's only win was by Singapore professional Peter Hill, who is scheduled to leave the defending champions next month unless a sponsor can be secured.

'It is very encouraging to kick off the season with two good wins, especially because a lot of people had written us off even before the first match was played,' said Sunny Poon Yat-sing, Perrier's number one.

'But I must admit we have been very lucky because Faheem [Khan] was away in Barcelona when we played Rubicon and Football Club weren't really well prepared because of their uncertain future.' Fuji, in second place in the standings with 10 points, beat Express New One 5-1 at the Hong Kong Squash Centre while Rubicon downed Express News Two by the same scoreline.
