LLADRO, the makers of exclusive Spanish porcelain with outlets at The Peninsula and Alexandra House, has joined the race against time to save one of Spain's most ancient Gothic cathedrals.

To the dismay of lovers of medieval art and culture, the Cathedral of Burgos has fallen into disrepair and its masonry is crumbling.

Lladro is contributing to the rescue operation through the sale of a commemorative figurine called The Little Cid which is for sale from the Hong Kong shops.

A 'major portion' of the sales proceeds will be channelled to the Association of Friends of Burgos Cathedral to fund restoration.
