Check hinders winning bid by Entrepreneur

STAYER Entrepreneur will get away with a suitable race in the near future following an excellent and slightly unlucky run in the fifth event last night. The son of the legendary Nijinsky was given a fine ride by seven pound claimer Peter W.L. Ho but came slightly to grief in the short and cramped Happy Valley straight. He received a squeeze halfway down the straight which broke his momentum and he finished a good fourth to eye-catching winner Forever Ahead.

Even without the check, Entrepreneur would not have reached the winner but he will benefit from this outing and appears to go well for this apprentice. That could be particularly significant as the weight allowance can mean so much over a trip and the lad is value for the claim.

Entrepreneur has now had two runs this season and will be absolutely ready to run a top race at his next outing. Also looking for further and one who will also be scoring soon is Figure It Out from the in-form David Oughton stable.

He flashed home over 1,650 metres in the first event where he was wearing blinkers for the first time. Figure It Out needs much further than this to be maximally effective and at the bottom end of Class Five makes appeal.

There is an 1,800-metre event coming up shortly and at Sha Tin he could oblige in that.

It will be a case of the further the better for this horse.
