MORE than 200 people have been prosecuted for selling parts of endangered species during the past 12 months, said Secretary for Economic Services Gordon Siu Kwing-chue.

A programme inspected 3,300 traditional medicine shops and raided 387.

'I believe that the message is now getting through clearly to retailers and their suppliers that it is not worth dealing in products even claiming to contain rhino horn and tiger bone,' he said.

The total number of people prosecuted so far this year is 519.
