Shares in Eco-Tek that entrepreneur Lily Chiang Lai-lei gave her assistant in 2001 were equal to 26 years' salary, the District Court heard. Prosecutor Simon Westbrook SC said the shares - which were sold for HK$5 million after Eco-Tek listed - seemed 'a lot of gratitude'. Chiang, accused of fraud, said the 26 years' salary estimate was an assumption, but agreed the shares were worth HK$2 million at the time of listing.
