The wheel of fortune rolled Finezza's way at the barrier draw for the Clarke Quay Handicap (1,600m) and Zac Purton didn't have to be asked twice. The Australian made no mistake from gate one on the Paul O'Sullivan-trained gelding to notch up his second win after having awful luck at the draw previously. In his past four starts, Finezza had drawn 13, 13, 14 and 13, making his job so much harder, but had turned in good efforts including his initial win. 'A couple of gear changes and a gate made all the difference,' said Purton, who has been the horse's regular partner. 'He might not have looked impressive after a nice run today, but he did have 133 pounds in the saddle and when he goes up to Class Three and down in weight, he might be able to sprint a bit sharper at the finish. And ridden quietly at 1,800m or even 2,000m he'll have a better turn of foot.'
