Caretaker's death probed in suspected arson attack

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found after a suspected arson attack at a two-storey warehouse in Yuen Long in the small hours yesterday. Firefighters were called in when the fire broke out at about 1am at 22 Hung Shui Kiu Tin Sam Road. About 10 villagers living nearby were led to safety. The fire was put out in about 30 minutes, and the body of a man, said to be in his 70s, was found on the first floor of the warehouse. Police believe the man was a caretaker there. He is said to have had a record of mental illness.
