The Hong Kong Cricket Club (HKCC) were crowned champions at the Girls' U13 Bank of China (Hong Kong) 54th Festival of Sport Netball Tournament last Sunday.

HKCC beat five other teams to win the competition organised by the Hong Kong Netball Association at Shun Lee Tsuen Sports Centre.

Cubs and SKH Li Fook Hing Secondary School were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The competition was based on round-robin matches, with two halves of eight minutes each and a two-minute break.

HKCC were the favourites as they are the champions in the primary cup division of the Junior Netball League.

HKCC had seven players from different schools, but that did not affect their team spirit. They were captains Katrina Salnikow and Marina Lamplough, Lauren Laroche, Bethary Wilkes, Aparna Nair, Alice Burnett and Sophie Krantz. They won all five matches and conceded only one point.
