Back to work for Stephen Lam
Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Stephen Lam Sui-lung resumed his duties yesterday after he was discharged from Queen Mary Hospital, where he had heart surgery on Thursday.
Lam said he was in good health after undergoing an operation known as balloon angioplasty. 'I think it's enough for me to rest for two days on weekends,' he said.
'I don't think going back to work so soon will put any pressure on any other officials.'
The 55-year-old minister said he planned to take part in the Legislative Council's debate on budget proposals next Wednesday. Lam underwent checks on Thursday and it was discovered that a blood vessel in his heart was 70 per cent blocked and required immediate treatment.
