DAKS' spring-summer line has the global traveller in mind with the lightweight fabrics and simply cut lines of the Eastern Odyssey collection. The muted white, grey and black pieces are paired with a flash of mustard to bring the line into the warmer months. The chic cut of the Mustard Silk Noil trousers (far left; HK$3,760) and the elegant weightlessness of the grey crepe Sunrise pleated dress (left; HK$12,680) are a welcome addition to any wardrobe. DAKS is at Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2868 5122.
Pretty in pink
Zara has brought a high-street twist to the bold colours flowing down the catwalks of Lanvin, Sportmax and Miu Miu this spring. A bright fuchsia blazer (far left; HK$1,499) with black lapels shows a daring balance of masculine and feminine. The pairing of pink with green in a mini dress (left; HK$399) proves there is no colour combination too daring this season. Zara is at Times Square, Causeway Bay, tel: 2506 0070.
Pennyblack has reinterpreted the Mary Jane shoe and offered a modern take on this office-wear staple. The Italian brand, which is part of the Max Mara Fashion Group, has brought an affordable, modern elegance to the most classic of women's shoe designs. The siren-red pair (above left; HK$2,080) and the black shoe with taupe detail (above right; HK$2,080) are our pick of the bunch. Pennyblack is at Sogo, Causeway Bay, tel: 2722 9624.
Deepa Gurnani, the New York-based accessories brand, uses intricate beading in subtle metallic tones to create timeless evening handbags. The trend of combining gold and silver in jewellery is carried through into a beautiful, uneven geometric patterned clutch (right; HK$4,400) and the chain-link detail on a black folded clutch (above; HK$4,400) adds edge to a simple design. The line is available at Harvey Nichols, The Landmark, Central, tel: 3695 3388.
