Good Gains helped blow the Triple Trio pool out of the water as winner of the final leg of the exotic for trainer Dennis Yip Chor-hong and jockey Weichong Marwing. At generous win odds himself, Good Gains combined with roughies Charmgold and Dynamic Cross to create a HK$33,000 trio result that chewed up any remaining tickets and will push a jackpot forward to next week. 'Good Gains comes to hand quickly, but is not easy to keep in form, and can be quite inconsistent as a result,' Yip said. 'His rating had dropped back to a suitable level, so he was going to be a chance if he showed his best, which he did.' Good Gains tipped out the bold Charmgold by a neck, with a further length back to Dynamic Cross. 'Next time Good Gains will probably be back in Class Three, which will make it hard, but it was good to get a second win out of the horse.'
