Two held for theft of manhole covers

Two men were arrested for the theft of seven manhole covers in Shau Kei Wan yesterday. Officers were called at noon when a security guard saw the men taking the covers in Nam On Street. Police arrived to see them pushing a trolley loaded with manhole covers in Factory Street. The men ran off and after a brief chase one of them was caught at the junction of Kam Wa Street and Mong Lung Street. The other was arrested later. They will appear in Eastern Magistrate's Court today.
