Driver faces more serious charge after appeal

Tuesday, 14 August, 2012, 7:48am

The Justice Department won an appeal for a construction worker - convicted of careless driving - to face trial for dangerous driving causing death. On August 16, 2008, Wong Shing-chi was thrown off his motorbike. He was then hit by Tse Wing-hang's car. District Judge Esther Toh Lye-ping ruled there was insufficient evidence to support the dangerous driving charge. The Court of Appeal yesterday held that evidence suggested Tse was driving dangerously.
