Retired policeman shoots his thigh

A 64-year-old retired police officer was shot in the thigh when cleaning his .22 rifle in his home in Fu Wen House in Fu Cheong Estate, Sham Shui Po last night. The rifle was suspected of discharging accidentally. He was conscious and rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital, Kwai Chung. District Councillor Tracy Lai Wai-lan, who knew him, said he had a gun licence. She did not hear any gunshot from her nearby office.
