Water babes

This summer, Insight's swimwear line is a mishmash of prints and colours inspired by a range of styles, from 1970s glam to 90s grunge. Popular cuts such as the mini-tri bikini, bandeau-style tops and tie-side briefs dominate the collection. We love its darker take on floral prints, as seen on the black, violet and green Cicada Flower bikini (centre right; HK$699) and the mix of army green, hot pink and bright orange featured in the Pop Tropical bikini (far right; HK$799). The bright red Croatia bikini (right; HK$599), with crocheted top and bottom, is another favourite. Insight is at Seibu, Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2971 3888.

Bunny business

Hong Kong-based accessories label Patinova incorporates antique objects into its jewellery. To commemorate the Year of the Rabbit, and just in time for Easter, the label has released a series of accessories using replicas of zodiac rabbit coins from the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). Standouts include the bracelet (above; HK$580) with a small silver coin on a leather strap and the pendant (left; HK$620). Patinova is available online at www.patinova.com.

Neutral gear

We still have a soft spot for the neutrals that have been storming the runways for the past two seasons. EQ:IQ doesn't disappoint with a lovely stretch trench coat (above right; HK$3,600) in khaki, perfect for those chillier nights or rainy days. We love the silky poplin cape shirt (right; HK$1,400), which is clinched at the waist with a tan belt. For a great, fun look, wear these with a pair of goat suede shorts (above; HK$2,600). EQ:IQ is at Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon, tel: 2196 8238.

Female forms

Joan & David is all about femininity this spring and a generous dose of youthful spirit has been added to the label's elegant classicism. We like the straw weave tweed boxy jacket in cream (above; HK$4,200) worn over a casual top and jeans. The butterfly print flared summer dress (left; HK$3,600) is well draped and pinched at the waist for a feminine silhouette. Our favourite, however, is the tulip-red flared silk dress (above left; HK$3,400) for its great structure and simple elegance. Joan & David is at IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2526 8828.
