I saw a guy at the Sevens wearing an awesome T-shirt that looked like one of those big logo Polos but it had a sexy girl on it instead. Any chance you guys know where I could find one?
Mr Dapper: Are you still inebriated? Head injury from a flying pitcher, perhaps? Whatever the case, I refuse to play along. Get yourself a logo- less polo shirt at Uniqlo (HK$99 and up; 2/F, Lee Theatre Plaza, 99 Percival Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 2577 5811). Now, go do something useful with yourself.
I'm bored of the Hermes-style silk tie thing and I'd like one of those old-school knit ties to have something different to wear to work.
Mr Dapper: 'Old school' is a relative term considering men have been wearing ties for centuries. You should know that not only are knitted ties often made from silk but also that Hermes makes one of the most beautiful versions around, in an assortment of solid colours (HK$1,600 and up; The Galleria, Central, tel: 2525 5900). Traditional as I am, I do feel that if you wear a knitted tie with a suit, you are making a statement. Some would say they should be reserved for more casual attire, such as blazers. I think it's fine, but you should know the rules before you start breaking them.
Mr Dandy: Wow. Pretty serious when all we're talking about is a strip of fabric, isn't it? With all the clothing options men are given these days, I'm not even sure a tie is necessary anymore. But it sure is a fun accessory to play with. I like the skinny silk versions by the revamped Fred Perry label (left; HK$799 to HK$899; 14 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2530 3899), which come in solid black or light grey, or navy blue with red and white. Moncler's Gamme Bleu line includes a gorgeous super-skinny style in navy blue with outer edges in white and red (HK$1,600; Joyce, 16 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2810 1120). Finally, we knew Ralph Lauren wouldn't let us down but we didn't know he'd surpass our expectations with a rainbow of colours to choose from (HK$1,090; The Landmark, tel: 2869 0388). Just keep in mind that stores aren't always organised by category, so wander around all the sections to get the full selection.
