Bespoke menswear suits celebrity fashion plate Simon Yam to a T
For an enthusiastically metrosexual celebrity such as Simon Yam Tat-wah, 320-thread count Egyptian cotton and a template drawn from more than 20 measurements are musts for any shirt worthy of wear.
It's no surprise, then, that the actor and fashion plate has a close relationship with Ascot Chang; in fact, Yam (pictured) has the promise of a lifetime supply of tailored shirts from the bespoke menswear house, without the responsibilities of an official spokesman.
'It's really an informal partnership of sorts,' Yam said at Ascot Chang's fashion show and cocktails at The Landmark's Atrium on Thursday. 'Over the years, I've brought so many of my personal designs over to them for realisation; we really see eye-to-eye on the aspects of good tailoring.
'I actually know my way around a sewing machine ... What I don't have is time, and that's where Ascot Chang helps me out.'
Yam was just one among many celebrity fans of the brand at the mixer. Models Mandy Lieu, Alice B and Amanda Strang dressed up for the occasion, as did famous food critic Choi Lan, who came in a pink floral tie-on shirt in the Easter spirit.
