O'Young surges to first victory of season

Hong Kong driver Darryl O'Young claimed his first victory of the season in the Independents Trophy in Belgium. Driving his new Cruze 1.6 Turbo, O'Young started ninth on the grid but finished a close fourth overall behind Gabriele Tarquini in round four of the 24-round FIA World Touring Car Championship, placing first in the Independents. After the two rounds in Zolder, O'Young ranks fourth in the Independents trophy and 10th in the overall standings. The championship now goes to Monza, Italy, for rounds five and six on May 14 and 15. The season's last two race weekends will be held in Guangdong and Macau in November.
