'He will just continue to go higher'

Quantum Power showed he was a class above even an 'A-grade' Class Four with a romping 1 3/4 lengths win for jockey Zac Purton and trainer Ricky Yiu Poon-fai to confirm his last-start success over the same course as yesterday's 1,400m Jules Audemars Handicap. Purton switched the three-year-old off at the back of the pack, but admitted he had to flick the power button a few times coming down the back to make sure the horse was still alive. 'We dropped him back for cover from the wide gate and he settled beautifully, at one stage around the 1,000m mark I had to niggle him a bit to keep him interested, so that's a good sign going forward with longer distances in mind. The thing I was most impressed with, however, was the way he put the race away within 200 metres. He came from back in the ruck, was impressive and will just continue to go higher in the ratings.'
