Youth accused of throwing drain cleaner

A 17-year-old student appeared in Kowloon City Court yesterday accused of throwing drain cleaner on his ex-girlfriend. Yau Kwok-hang entered no plea. He was charged with one count of throwing corrosive fluid with intent to do grievous bodily harm. He allegedly threw drain cleaner on Li Shuk-yin, 16, on Friday on a staircase in a building in Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate. The case was adjourned to June 13 pending a government chemist's report. Yau was remanded.
