Civic Party wants Wang Dan to visit

The Civic Party plans to invite Wang Dan, exiled former mainland student leader, to a seminar on the centenary of the 1911 revolution, in Hong Kong in October. Dr Kwok Ka-ki, of the party's executive committee, said he hoped the government would issue a visa to Wang, who was barred from visiting the city to attend the funeral of Szeto Wah, founding chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China, in January.
