Empire Hotel Causeway Bay

Promoting itself as offering affordable luxury, the hotel provides sleekness and well-equipped convenience on a budget. However, contrary to its name, the hotel is located in Tin Hau, on the edge of Victoria Park, and is more luxury than budget.

Its marble-clad lobby has a subtle neo-oriental vibe, while diffused lighting and modish design features enhance the public areas. The hotel's design was overseen by award-winning Japanese architect Koichiro Ikebuchi, whose less-is-more approach helps give intimacy without compromising on space and convenience.

The Empire also boasts a new spa and a recently opened club lounge offering panoramic views of the harbour. The Life Spa boasts mood lighting, jacuzzis and treatment rooms named after the five elements, while the Empire Club Lounge on the top floor features wireless internet, flat-screen televisions and nouveau European styling.

For business events, the Empire Grand Meeting Room can be split into three and provides seating for up to 110 people. A meeting room in the Empire Club Lounge comes with a host of business services. Guest rooms contain 42-inch flat-screen televisions, CD players, iPod docking stations and switchable electronic glass partitions in the bathroom.

A nearby bus terminal runs an airport shuttle. The MTR is also within minutes.
