A 27-year-old man drowned when he went swimming with friends in Tai She Wan, a remote beauty spot near Sai Kung, south of the High Island Reservoir. His brother, 24, spotted him in trouble around midday yesterday and raised the alarm. The man was taken unconscious to the nearby marine police base and then on to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital by helicopter. Emergency treatment failed to resuscitate him and he was certified dead.
