Pair held in raid on betting syndicate

Two people were arrested and about HK$20,000 in cash seized in a police raid against an illegal soccer betting syndicate on Saturday night. Also seized were records showing HK$18 million worth of bets placed, two computers and several mobile phones. A 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested in Tsing Yi. Police believe they were the syndicate's leaders and organised the illegal betting through a group of agents using the internet.
