Hilary Tsui's fashion boutique gets by with a little help from her celebrity friends

Although it wasn't printed on the invite, disco chic was the de facto dress code for Hilary Tsui Ho-ying's party last week at her Liger boutique in Causeway Bay, where she was celebrating the second anniversary of her fashion venture.

The former actress (second from right), who paired a shocking pink dress with silver spandex tights, mingled with celebrity friends including singer Lillian Ho Ka-lei (far left), Yumiko Cheng Hei-yee (second left), Kimbee Chan (centre) and actress Josie Ho Chiu-yee (right) who all came in rainbow-coloured dresses, neon leggings and identical silver sandals. The ensembles were a collaboration between Liger and shoe brand MBT.

The shop has kept Tsui so busy that her singer-husband, Eason Chan Yik-shun, is worried about how much time she spends at work.

'He didn't think I'd be so into this when I first started. A lot of people didn't,' said Tsui, who opened her second Liger branch, in Tsim Sha Tsui, last year.

'I'd thought about opening shops in Taiwan or [mainland] China, but I was afraid I wouldn't have any time to take care of my family.'

Tsui's starlet friends certainly helped her business. Ho bought clothes worth HK$50,000 from the shop. 'Every time I come here I buy enough clothes to last me for a whole season,' she said.
