Chadwick looks good value as Doleuze tops list

Olivier Doleuze is all the rage with the early Jockey Challenge punters and firmed from $4 to $3.20 as favourite in the fixed odds market when betting opened last night, but Matthew Chadwick looks the best value chance as $7 third favourite.

Doleuze has a quality book, but Chadwick looks to have a standout winner in California Choice, and with another great chance on Real Dragon in the second event, the young rider will be hard to topple care of his heavy backing from premiership leading trainer Tony Cruz.

Cat Storm and Super Genki have good each-way hopes in the middle of the card and young Chadwick will need those to score if he is to capitalise on a good start to the afternoon on Real Dragon.

Chadwick, who has ridden 35 winners this season and 10 in the past 10 meetings, finishes off strongly with three gun chances in the treble races.

Open Sesame should not be discounted, California Choice only needs clear running to claim the feature sprint - the Hong Kong Lions Cup - and Beauty Success is a top hope in the last.

Brett Prebble also looks a danger and is a good price at $8.50 overnight, but the strong Australian rider will need to dominate the low-class races that start the meeting if he is to be in with a sniff at the end.
