Trainer Andy Leung Ting-wah has missed the Jockey Club's benchmark performance figure of 13 wins for the season only once in his career and a second successive win with Class Five Speedy sees him wearing that target down again. Leung had only 10 wins in the 2004-05 term, but that was the only glitch in 15 seasons. As in his previous success for Howard Cheng Yue-tin in April, Speedy had nothing to spare at the finish, but got all the breaks to hold out Sammy's Fortune and take the trainer's tally to 11 wins. And it spoke well of Cheng's judgment after Speedy's last victory that he would win again.
