NINE Kuwaiti soccer internationals have been suspended for three months after they went shopping without permission in the United Arab Emirates.

The Kuwait news agency KUNA quoted the country's Football Association secretary Mohammad Othman as saying the players were punished for 'ignoring instructions by officials'.

The nine first-team players had been dropped from last Wednesday's prestigious Gulf Cup final won 2-0 by Saudi Arabia following their shopping trip to Dubai.
